Happy New Year to all my incredible readers! Apologies for the delayed blog post due to technical issues, but I wish each of you a year ahead filled with health and happiness.

As the clock struck midnight on December 31, 2023, my family reveled in excitement and reflections in the living room. Meanwhile, I found myself in my room all silent , gazing at the 2023 calendar. Lost in thought, time slipped away, and a profound realization dawned – the new year was just a change in the calendar sheet; nothing more, nothing less.

Have you ever felt this way too?

My mentor's words from my entrance coaching days echoed in my mind – the moment you perceive birthdays and celebrations like-New Year's Eve as mere changes in the calendar, you've grown up. Indeed....

No doubt, college life has played a pivotal role in shaping my identity, a journey I've shared in numerous blogs. However, for someone like me, perpetually chasing new ideas and experiences, this change felt stifling. It's a sensation of being stuck, unable to propel forward, create something extraordinary, or surpass others in creativity and achievement. This reminds me the time when I couldn't crack the entrance exams, missing out on top colleges, an experience my parents likened to futilely pushing against an immovable wall.

While some advocate patience as the key, I questioned: how long can one wait? Years have passed, and uncertainty persists. Friends encourage relentless effort, asserting there's no limit to trying, but I ponder whether there's a limit to the motivation to persist.

And yes no new resolution this year.I believe new year resolutions are nothing but a reminder check for ourselves-for the things we couldn't complete, when the year ends that hits hard. As others revel in laughter and alcohol on New Year's Eve, I find myself immersed in a pool of introspection and overthinking.

As this blog is posted, I'm back at my hostel, awaiting the commencement of a new semester. The unexpected class reshuffle brings both new opportunities for friendships and a chance for self-discovery. I won't claim this new year as 'my year,' but I pledge to break free from the stagnation, becoming a person I am proud of, one admired by others.

No more tears shed for the same reasons. Instead, a commitment to learn, grow, and embrace change. Here's to a fruitful new year, filled with exploration, self-discovery, and joyous moments shared as the semester unfolds. May this year mark a transformative journey for each one of you.
